Paul Anka
Did you know that in 1962 Paul Anka was Canada’s most famous person, the person everyone everywhere thought of first when they heard the word “Canada”? He was more famous than whats-his-name, the Prime Minister.
I intended to mention this sooner, when I was talking about Cuba, but it slipped my mind. As you know, in Cuba I met ordinary citizens from every far flung corner of the Earth. They all without exception, even if they spoke no English, when they learned I was Canadian, said Paul Anka!
I was just reminded of this when C called to say he was going on the road with Anka. I can’t put his name here because the deal isn’t inked yet so will fill it in later, if ever.
(It’s Cory Weeds.)
