Image on left, Inukshuk, ancient symbol of Inuit culture, traditionally used as a landmark and navigational aid. Made of granite, this figure represents a human with outstretched arms, a well-known symbol of hospitality. Constructed by Alvin Kanak of Rankin Inlet.

On right, rock tower by Daryl Maddeaux. Maddeaux spent much of 1995 balancing thousands of rocks on the beach.
