Happy Birthday Rachel Louise Carson

Rachel Carson's 100th birthday would have been one week ago exactly. Forty-five years ago she wrote Silent Spring. I was working for Chevalier Associates then. I was eighteen. They represented, among others of the capitalist cabal, the Canadian Manufacturers of Chemical Specialties, or CMCS. An association of people that made pesticides. I learned a lot on that job. For example, I learned that in business, if what you're selling and people are using is killing everyone, you don't stop selling your product, you shoot the messenger. It's no different today. In fact, it's worse. It was my job to help these people try to get Carson discredited and even to have her book banned. Today, no one uses DDT anymore. Or do they?
